Montverde had a historically great team last year and won every game at the year-end Chipotle Nationals by more than 14 points. At this event in 2023, Montverde beat Wasatch 88-53, but both teams will be almost completely different this year.

Wheeler went to the semis in the Georgia 7A classification last year. Timpview went to the semis in the Utah 5A classification last year. Utah Jazz rookie Isaiah Collier went to Wheeler. Last year at this tournament Wheeler beat Corner Canyon 57-49 and Timpview beat Lone Peak by 23.
